Pennsylvania Switchgear is a U.S.-based manufacturer of high-voltage dead tank circuit breakers, serving voltage systems from 72.5 kV to 170 kV at 40 kA interrupting current. We are American owned with all Management, R&D, Final Production, Engineering, and Technical Support located in Canonsburg, PA, and as a subsidiary of—and headquartered within—Pennsylvania Transformer Technology, LLC (PTT), we benefit from the full support and financial resources of PTT and our parent company, Quanta Services.

PA Switchgear High Voltage Dead Tank Circuit Breakers
- PA Switchgear is the only American-owned designer of high-voltage circuit breakers, engineered in-house for the North American power grid. Designed for 60 Hz systems and certified beyond industry standards, our breakers use no licensed or outsourced technology—just proven performance built for today’s applications.
Covering applications from 123kV through 170kV class, the PB145 is a 40kA breaker that combines robust performance with in-house engineering tailored to today’s high-voltage grid demands.
Built for 72kV class applications, the PB72 delivers 40kA interrupting performance using a spring mechanism and SF₆ self-blast interrupter—purpose-built for U.S. transmission needs.
