PA Switchgear offers two families of dead-tank circuit breakers. The PB145 is rated at 40kA interrupting current for applications rated 123kV through 170kV class. The PB72 is rated at 40kA interrupting current and 72kV class applications. Both the PB145 and PB72 utilize a spring mechanism and an SF6 self-blast interrupter. All of PA Switchgear’s circuit breaker families have been designed in house. No technology was purchased and no technology is licensed.
As the only American-owned designer of high voltage circuit breakers, our focus is on the American customer. Our breakers were developed specifically for our home market. All products are designed to handle the faster 60 Hz rise times and longer transmission lines of North America. PA Switchgear’s breakers are not grandfathered to older, less stringent requirements. Our breakers have been certified beyond current industry standard requirements. This provides customers with confidence that the breakers will perform well regardless of the application.
